Apple Flavored GripeWater Recall Response
A Letter from Roshan Kaderali
December 4, 2007
Dear Parents and Friends,
I wanted to give you an update about the recent
Apple GripeWater recall. As you may know, we had voluntarily recalled the Apple Flavored GripeWater in September after being informed
of potential contamination with Cryptosporidium, a common parasite often found in municipal water supplies and other locations.
Since then, we have had an independent lab conduct extensive tests on the Apple flavored gripe water
(lot #26952V, expiration 10/08) and they found no evidence of contamination with Cryptosporidium.
Further, we had the same tests conducted on the original GripeWater and no presence of Cryptosporidium
was found in any of the extensive and comprehensive tests we have conducted.
We have shared the results of these tests with the FDA, who had also conducted their own five-day inspection
of our laboratory facilities. Their conclusion from that inspection was that all the practices and procedures
that our laboratory follows were appropriate and correct.
Consequently, after consulting with the FDA, we have now released, for sale the Apple Flavored GripeWater.
It should be in the stores that previously carried this product (lot number 28583W, expiration 4/09).
On behalf of the entire team at Mom Enterprises, we want to assure all of you that Mom Enterprises, Inc. has
solid policies and procedures in place to ensure that our products are safe and of the highest quality.
We apologize for any inconvenience we caused you and appreciate your patience and your loyalty to our products.
Please call our toll-free hotline (877-457-4955) with any questions or
concerns regarding Apple GripeWater or the original GripeWater.
Sincerely,
Roshan Kaderali
CEO
